Residential RCDs and Safety Switches
The average home can have over 8 circuits that are broken up into for different areas and applications that must be managed by safety switches called RCDs.
RCDs play an important part in any home’s electrical function, as they are designed to shut the power off at the first sign of any faults/leakage. If you have an older heritage style home in Sydney it is possible that your switchboard is non-compliant. Over the years RCD technology and building requirements have changed, but not all homes have moved in accordance.
An RCD upgrade will be required for older homes if new appliances and/or outlets are installed. As well as safety testing and tagging your new RCD or safety switch, we can also do a complete switchboard upgrade including fuses, active and neutral links and your earthing system.
