An RCD or residual current device is a safety device that has life-saving potential. An RCD is designed to prevent you, or anyone in your business, from getting an electrical shock if you touch something live in your commercial premises. An RCD offers a high level of protection, and as a safety device it switches off the electricity automatically if there is a fault.
RCD Testing
It is important to ensure your RCD is functioning properly. To do this, you must regularly test your RCDs. This involves intentionally tripping the RCD in your commercial building to ensure that it will work effectively and properly in the case of an electrical incident occurring.
