Residential RCD and Safety Switches

The average home can have over 50 power outlets and these outlets are broken up into areas that are managed by safety switches called RCDs.

RCDs play an important part in any home’s electrical grid, as they are designed to shut the power off at the first signs of any faults. If you have an older heritage style home in Sydney it is possible that your home’s RCD system is non-compliant. Over the years RCD technology and building requirements have changed, but not all home have moved in accordance.

An RCD upgrade will be required for older homes if new appliance outlets are installed. As well as safety testing and tagging your new RCD or safety switch, we can also upgrade older style fuses, not only to ensure your RCD compliance, but also to give peace of mind as the newer technology provides much better safety.
